Hog was formed in mid-2009 after the break up of their former band, Tooth, paring the lineup down to guitar bass and drums. Playing a brand of Doom metal that is as nimble as it is thick, they recorded a three song demo with Will Evans of Aleph Audio. In August of 2010 Alec Ferrell joined the group on guitar, and the new four-piece ventured to the infamous Jam Room studio in Columbia SC to record their debut EP, titled Archetypes with Kylesa member and noted producer Philip Cope. Archetypes was released May 17th, 2011 by Churchkey Records. In early 2013 Hog recorded their first full-length release with Greg Klaiber at Caveman Studio in Durham, NC, to be released later this year.
