Thank you for visiting my ReverbNation page. My name is Brixter and these are some of my songs that I have written and recorded, I hope you like 'em. My favorite music genres are hard rock and metal. My tunes fall somewhere within those genres. I do tend to sneak in a ghost of blues scale for flavor, I don't mean it, it just happens. I tend to write about the things that I have experienced and felt for myself. However, I have written about things that I have witnessed through other people, or observations of the others...the things that they, themselves, can not see.
In the last few years I had removed myself from the scene, the only place that I knew, ...whether I was the fan, the sound man, a weekend roadie, a record store manager, a promoter, a booker, t-shirt & sticker printer, the van driver, back-line provider, the doorman, security guy, the lighting tech, CD designer, writer, manager, producer, performer, or recording artist. It was hard to do...to just abandon everything that had been accomplished, but it had to be done. The reason you might ask? The usual, creative differences. There were three completely different line-ups of '69 Model, and within each one, there was "that guy" that felt that it was necessary to butt heads with me on everything, form a coup, and try to hijack the band and my songs. I lost the energy, the faith, and the desire to carry on after three starts and stalls. It's hard trying to do something that you love when you have to do it with someone that you've grown to hate. Sometimes it's best to walk away, take a breath, think a bit, look back, learn from it, and regroup.
Overall, I'm thankful for the experiences, the good and the bad, that was the band '69 Model. I'm a bit wiser these days and have unlearned some bad guitar playing habits, thanks to my hiatus. Mainly, I just want to write and play because it's just fun. No more egos or seriousness please. Wake up, none of us are gonna be rock stars. Brixter
