...Midwest guitarist John Masino is constantly on the go performing with the John Masino Band, and his solo and duo shows- (with Brian Beebe). A former CBS recording artist, he has been a member of dozens popular Midwest bands including Cynthia and the Soul Asylum, SRO, The Wrack, Baby Fat, Chunky Pie, Hi-Fi, Powerplay, The Rage, Clear Blue Betty, and the very successful 70’s band PUNCH. John has opened countless national shows for bands such as Head East, Ted Nugent, Blue Oyster Cult, Savoy Brown, Foghat, Quiet Riot, John Mellencamp, The Tubes, Cheap Trick, America, and many others including guitar legends Rick Derringer, Leslie West, Robin Trower and Neil Zaza. In the early 80’s, John lived in New York City where he performed and did session work before moving back to his hometown Madison Wisconsin.
A few accomplishments for John Masino include: winners (with his band) of the MAMA (Madison Area Music Association) “Best Rock Performer” for 2012, and “Best Guitarist” for 2010, winner of the 2012 Guitar Center “Battle of the Blues” Madison competition, winner of the 2011 Guitar Center “King of the Blues” Madison and Minneapolis competitions, honorable mention from www.songoftheyear.com for “Heaven” from the new CD “Really?” released in December of 2011.
