In April 2005, Cassino was created in Huntsville, AL, by the 2 principle songwriters of the disbanded rock group Northstar. They began recording their first album (Sounds of Salvation) in 2006 with Nashville-based producer/drummer Craig Krampf, known for his work with artists such as Dolly Parton, Alabama, and Townes Van Zandt. The album was released independently on March 29, 2007. After some sporadic touring (and eventually a full U.S. tour), Cassino settled down and started working on another full length record. Their newest endeavor is entitled “Kingprince”, and was recorded by the group themselves in Nashville, TN . It was released digitally in December of 2009, and soon to be followed by a physical release at the beginning of 2010.
