DeBraun Thomas grew up around many different musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area. At 15 Thomas began playing in music clubs around the area with his father’s different bands. In 2009 DeBraun moved to Lexington, Kentucky to attened the University of Kentucky. Thomas graduated in 2012 and has been focusing on music in addition to working at the local NPR affiliate WUKY. For the last year and a half, Thomas has been performing with the DeBraun Thomas Trio featuring Lexington veterans Smith Donaldson on bass and Daniel Mohler on drums. Thomas’ influences range from Jimi Hendrix to Otis Redding and he describes his music as Rock N Soul. Thomas is currently working on his first solo album at Shangri-La Productions in Lexington in addition to playing regionally.
