"What Robert Johnson would've sounded like with an electric guitar."
Catfish Soup surfaced in Newcastle, Australia, in 2008 and quickly set about building a solid fan base. By early 2012, after some minor lineup changes, they had released their self titled debut album and earned a reputation as a direct and compelling live act that’s all about the music.
'The Soup''s follow-up album - 2013's "We Got What You Need" - broke into the Australian Blues & Roots top 25 a month after its release, on the back of frequent national and international airplay. This lead to slots at the 2013 Rathmines Blues Festival and prime opening night sets at both the Newcastle and Sydney 2014 Blues & Roots Festivals.
The rise continues into 2015, with more festivals, a support for D.C. Bellamy during his Australian tour, and a new album due later in the year. It's shaping up to be a big one for 'The Soup'; guided as they are by the words of Billy Gibbons: "...tune up, turn on & rock out...".
