What do funk/fusion artist Zeke Martin, Smooth Jazz Artist Andre Ward, Motown Review Taylor Made, renown Blues/Roots guitarist Larry Baeder, Gospel/R&B Singer Leon Beal, Kenyan Producer Felix Mwangi, Vegas Headliner Johnny Ray, and Singer/Songwriter Joe Merrick all have in common? They’ve all called upon the versatile artistry of guitarist Gordon O’Connell over the years to enhance their sound. Steve Ellman of Boston’s WBUR described Gordon as “One of the most sensitive and innovative musicians in the Boston area."

He has opened for such artists as Patti Austin, Jeffrey Osbourne, The SOS Band, Patti LaBelle, Regina Bell, The Whispers, Lenny Williams (Tower of Power), South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Ben E. King, Albert Lee, Expose, and The Turtles. Gordon’s album credits include Joe Merrick’s “Supernaturally Sober” and "Home", Lori Dow’s “Unconditionally Yours”, Leon Beale's Romantic Groove, and Mike Garvey’s “Part of the Picture”.

Recent performance venues include Boston’s Wang Center and Berklee Performance Center, The Gibson Showplace in Nashville, Trump Tower, the Seacoast Center in New York City, and the Montecarlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Gordon O'Connell studied performance and composition at the Berklee College of Music and classical guitar at the New England Conservatory. While attending Berklee, he was the recipient of the Laurindo Almieda Award for Excellence in Performance.
