Tommy Thunderfoot emerged from the heat, mud, and energy that is the Blues.Shaped by fire and heart from sacred ground ,known as Momma's Blues Palace to all who have been there. The name came about as a result of past experiences colliding with the future on a stage in an old quilting factory surrounded by pure talent and old souls. A journey which began in friendship has turned into more than anyone imagined, the next surprise being the best encouragement. The wisdom and history of the Blues is not lost on Tommy Thunderfoot, nor the traditions of "passing it on" ,or "playin' like it's your last time" .
Through the years the Accelerators have had many faces and names: Pete Baggott,Robert Senate,Craig Campany,Jonathan Williams,Tanner cooper,Sammy Derek,Greg Levkis,Tommy Nolen,JoJo Wall,John Picard,Whitey Brown,Roy Lee Branham, and many others. Most recently, the Charleston Accelerators are JoJo Wall and Jonathan Williams, while the Raleigh,NC Accelerators were Dan Shanahan(bass) and Robert Hart(drums),with a new drummer,John Fulp, in place, they look to bring a level of performance to the Raleigh stage that hasn't been seen in years.
If you're lucky enough to catch a show, tell your friends-the blues is never dead, the bands that play blues are always on the verge of the biggest show, ever, with a little help from the audience, and you always make the show what it is.
Tommy Thunderfoot and the Accelerators could be playing near you,so don't miss them,or you'll be missing out on a great tradition from the small stages in Charleston,to the hottest blues bar in town,to a festival stage where all your newest friends are-the blues is alive and here's an example....
