Jimmy Liggett / Bio

Hello, thanks for stopping by,I'd like to say I feel very fortunate to have so many people appreciate my musical contributions...please keep promoting the local artist's...they work hard at their music and art...often without little or no pay...
I love playing blues music, most of all I love to write songs and play out as often as I can...my master plan is to one day travel and play...hoping to meet other musicians along the path...
I'm going to keep moving forward the best I can,as I get older I see myself focusing on writing songs and sharing them with anyone that cares enough to listen.
Chicago has a very rich history of having some of the greatest blues musicians that ever lived...and of course there are ones that keep contributing to the legacy...I'm honored beyond words to be on the reverbnation charts...but please know that is not why I'm doing this...there are many many greater musicians out there than I...I'll say again...please respect the ones that carry on for nothing more than the love they have for playing...many of them pound the pavement and sacrifice so much to be able to do that...
Last night we found the results of our voting...I must say that although I did not vote for Obama...I pray that he makes the right decisions in taking our country forward in a positive direction...that is as far as I'll go with mentioning politics here...have you ever heard the saying..."shut up and play music"???...that said...there are many creative artist's through our history that have actually made changes in our society...merely by singing...won't mention any names...but I'll ask..."which ones come to your mind?...
I'm working on a tribute cd/album for a friend who passed away...I knew him for over forty years...I'm finding it brings me that much closer to accepting the fact that he is gone...he was my best friend in life and my brother...
I'll thank you again and wish you well...please feel free to listen to a few of my songs...the ones posted on the page are inspired by a woman I fell in love with...I guess there are all kinds of reasons to write songs...mine mostly stem from real life experience...also they are therapeutic...I guess that is the blues...

blessings to all...
take care...
your friend jimmy
