When David Crosby (CSNY) first heard Carey Colvin sing, he said, “Definitely give up your day job!” Carey’s warm, expressive, and powerful vocals “draw you into her world with grace, humor, and panache” (Richard Fox, WCUW-FM, Worcester, MA). Her award-winning debut album, The Distance Wall, is a compelling recording with award-winning songs that feature an effervescent concoction: A dash of blues, rock-edged pop, and pop-influenced contemporary folk. Carey performs with Granger Helvey on electric bass and vocals. She received the 1997 Wammie™ for Folk-Contemporary Female Vocalist, and the 2000 Wammie™ for Debut Recording of the Year. Carey has appeared at Writer's Night at The Bluebird Cafe, and The Birchmere opening for CPR.
