Texas singer songwriter Laura Marie pulls together pop, folk and jazz influences to color her deeply introspective lyrics about truth, life and love.
Laura Marie’s lyrics are both touching and personal. She gets to the heart of the matter with a voice somewhat familiar, yet distinctly her own. Her vocal style has been described as ‘smooth as 100 year-old scotch’ and she's been favorably compared to songwriters Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, and Tracy Chapman. Her first two releases were co-produced by five-time Grammy nominated producer, Mack Damon. She is currently set to release "Threadbare", an EP collaboration with guitarist/songwriter/producer Jake Owen (ATX) then head back into the studio with both Mack Damon and Jake Owen to record songs from her 2012 "Song a Week" project.
Songs from Last of the Ones can be heard in independent feature films “Dream Healing” by writer director Dora Pena starring Jesse Borrego and “Leftovers” by writer director Robin Nations. The single “Love You Like Me” can be heard in the DVD documentary “Dallas 30 - Off the Record”.
