DOES AN ARTIST NAME EVER AROUSE YOUR CURIOSITY ENOUGH TO LISTEN; SOMETIMES THE NAME AN ARTIST CHOOSES SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT ORIGINALITY OF TUNES, AS DO SONG TITLES. TITLES CAN REVEAL HOW IMAGINATIVE THE MUSIC AND THE LYRICS ARE!
I can't really give an opinion myself (some of the comparisons are not too obvious to me, and a couple of the artists I don't really like; flattering all the same), but I've been compared to the following artists:
SHEEP ON DRUGS, ROBIN HITCHCOCK, SWANS, THROBBING GRISTLE, BAUHAUS, DAVID BOWIE (ME BEING AN INFERIOR ONE, OF COURSE), TUBEWAY ARMY, BONZO DOG DOO-DAH BAND, LOU REED, FAD GADGET, THE MISSION, THE RESIDENTS, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS, SID BARRETT, LADYTRON, SPARKS, DEPECHE MODE, BRIAN ENO, DAVID BYRNE, PETER MURPHY, PHILIP GLASS, CABARET VOLTAIRE, SWANS, REMAIN IN LIGHT, TALKING HEADS, NEIL INNES, BARNES AND BARNES, ALIEN SEX FIEND, DEVO, A CERTAIN RATIO, HEAVAN 17, IGGY POP, PET SHOP BOYS, STEVE REICH, SISTERS OF MERCY, FRANK TOVEY, COIL, CHROME, JOHN CALE, JOHN FOXX, even Pink Floyd, it seems.
I have several pages here on RN, and it would probably require listening to quite a few tracks on the different pages, to come to a similar conclusion regarding influences.
