The Alamo Freeze began when Gray Stephenson and Brian O'Connor (formerly of Bloomington band Xenosound) decided to collaborate with Davis Snedeker and Matt McCarthy on a new project. Interested in bringing a wide range of influences in to create something outside all of their comfort zones, the four of them began writing and rehearsing in the Spring of 2013. The resulting music was heavy on electronic textures, but balanced by a natural, spontaneous rhythm section. They spent the summer holed up working on their debut album, "Livewire," which was released in the fall. Known for explosive and fun live shows that careen from dark, ambient textures to joyous full on rock and roll, they are quickly becoming a must-see live band in Bloomington.
