My new CD, "All This Life," was written and recorded between November, 2009 and April, 2010 - but the songs have been in my heart for a long time. The 15 tracks cover a bunch of styles, from folk to punk to rock and probably a few other things. I did all the recording, except for Jill Knapp (kickass vocals on "Elephant Gun"), Brian Turner (bringing the folky soul on "Happy Landings"), and Tina M. Sheing, Nick D'Argenio, Karen McCaffrey, and Kim Cowperthwait (the sexy soul behind "Daylight").
"All This Life" is my second self-recorded and produced CD, after 2006's "Songs for the Earthbound," which is available for download here. I also produced 1996's "Local Hero," a mix of studio- and home-recorded tracks. This time around, I was able to get incredibly valuable feedback from fellow recording artist Brian Turner, as well as Kathy Buterbaugh and Tina M. Sheing. I'm eternally grateful to all of you.
I begain writing songs when I was 10 or so, when I had the desire to create, if not the talent (the chorus of 1980's "All I Need is You": "all I really really really really really really really really need is you. " Really). Eventually I learned a verb from a noun and wrote & recorded all through high school, by myself and with my jazz band The Hot Mix Crew. Several wobbly cassette tapes exist as proof.
I perform infrequently, but when I do, I'll be sure to keep this page updated. Thank you to everyone who gives me a listen - I really hope you enjoy what you hear.
