Noelle / Bio

She was born a goddess with the name Jessica Maria. Overtime she found her own which explains the making of Noelle. Raised in the 2014 Fortune magazine most corrupt state, Mississippi, Noelle resided in a small town in MS northeast area known as West Point. At the age of four her birth mother was arrested and sentenced to jail causing her and her three older siblings to live with her aunt and uncle in the hood of Frog Bottom. Her aunt and uncle were determined to not have the hood in their home, despite the state of their community. Because of this Noelle discovered many talents and became involved in theatre arts at home, school and church. Her first major exposure to music was in the St. Matthews COGIC youth choir. When choir practice was over and church service ended on Sundays, Noelle found herself still longing for the feeling of freedom that music gave her. Noelle credits her family for introducing her to hip-hop, rap, soul, jazz, and rhythm & blues during the early/mid 1990s. On the weekends and all through out the summer, they turned up to Salt N Pepa, Kurupt, No Limit Soldiers, Aaliyah, Cece Winans, Smokey Robinson, many more artists of the time. When Destinys' Child and Lauryn Hill stepped on the scene it was a wrap. Noelle knew what goal she wanted to achieve in life, which was to become one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Her talent was good but Noelles' bad girl ways forced her to drop all extracurricular activities. Noelle ran away from home, was suspended from high school for fighting and even flunked the ninth grade due to poor grades. In the tenth grade, Noelle moved from the GTA to Jackson, MS to live with her biological mother. Every since 2006, Noelle has been living in the capital city aka Jacktown. It is the one place she learned the most about survival of the fittest and quality street smarts. She graduated from Lanier High in 2007 marking the beginning of real struggles as a young black female in America. Noelle was awarded a college scholarship but lost it due to constant misbehavior on campus. She was kicked out of school and suspended once again. Right after her suspension, Noelle became homeless, moved to New Orleans and landed a gig in adult entertainment. A hidden drug addiction got the best of her. Noelle suffered from two overdoses and was court ordered to receive rehabilitation and psychological treatment at Mississippi State Hospital in 2010. June 1, 2010 one week before she was released from rehab, her best friend was killed by a drunk driver. Noelle was released just in time to attend her funeral. Every since that day, Noelle has been steadfast and focused to not fail. Fall 2010 she went back to college, became a dean scholar and sociology club president and graduated with honors May 2012. Through it all... the good and bad, Noelle continued to write songs and constantly dreamed of still becoming one of the greatest entertainers of all time. So, 2011 she released two mixtapes (Fashionably Late and Goddess Witta Attitude). Noelle found herself being named the hottest female emcee out of Mississippi in no time. Today Noelle the Goddess is a top charted Reverbnation artist in the state of Mississippi and has earned the title of 2013 Artist to Watch in Jackson, MS. Noelle even blessed the city of Boston, Mass with her Goddess style during a show summer 2014. Her current single "Hurt You" is also featured on Coast 2 Coast Next Up Mixtape Vol. 202. There is so much more for her to conquer. Salute the goddess.
