Blaine Martin grew up in Quakertown, Pennsylvania where he began writing poetry as a means of dealing with the angst of growing up amidst cornfields and ex-girlfriends. He went on to get his BA in English and Philosophy from DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania where he received the Excellence in Creative Writing award in his senior year. While at DeSales, he studied creative writing with Steve Myers (poetry) and Juilene Osborne-McKnight (fiction). Blaine received his MFA in Poetry from Carlow University, in Pittsburgh, PA. At Carlow, he worked extensively with Jan Beatty. His final manuscript, A Letter to Charles Atlas, was awarded the honor of Pass with Distinction. Blaine now lives in Media, Pennsylvania where he works in the technology sector and writes poetry. He plans to return to school in 2012 to complete a PhD in English, with a focus in Creative Writing.
