Vonsey / Bio

New artist Eyvonne Myers’ sultry, soulful voice shines through She Flies, which she wrote as a tribute to her close relationship with and admiration for her father. As a girl, Eyvonne would fall asleep as her father sang her songs while playing guitar like no other she had heard.
When she was four years old, Eyvonne’s parents divorced. Her mother moved Eyvonne and her older sister to Michigan. As a single parent, Eyvonne’s mother raised the girls alone for the better part of a decade. The family spent a lot of time at her maternal grandmother’s home. It was there that Eyvonne first laid eyes on “the beloved piano”, as she fondly recalls. “My mom tells me that since I was a baby, every picture of me by that piano shows I always touching it. I knew that I was drawn to it somehow.”
When her dad finally moved to Michigan, she and her sister spent every other weekend with him. At 16, Eyvonne then discovered her lifelong love for poetry married well with her passion for music, a passion she obviously shares with and inherited from her father and loving Grandmother. Soon, she found herself with a pretty large stack of lyrics that were neither published nor shared nor even sang.
Today, Eyvonne lives in Traverse City, Michigan, where she has “discovered more passion for art and music. I’ve started picking up my guitar more then ever and putting my lyrics to sound. Music seems to surround me everywhere.”
Eyvonne enjoys life from walks in the park to sitting in absolute silence in the middle of the woods, from writing every thought in my head to painting her toe nails, the Detroit Lions, playing volley ball, from video games and love stories, to musicals and giving to those she loves. And, of course, she loves dreaming.
