The band started in 2010 with Philip and Ziggy jamming rock music in a construction garage late at night after working long days in a retail store. At the time the fun thing to do after practice was to go ghost hunting at a place called Screamers Bridge. After a few months Daniel aka Bonecrusher started to play the bass and Justin Hell jumped in on the drums. The band recorded a practice in the construction garage that can still be viewed by people on youtube at this link http://youtu.be/VaA1j9VCC_8.
After a few months the drummer of the band quit for his career and moved away leaving the rest of the band in search of a new drummer. The X1Z1 then went through multiple drummers trying to find the right one. They tried out four drummers that were all not the right fit for the band. Soon after the band collapsed and everyone went their separate ways except for Philip. He decided to keep working on the content of the project and let the members of the band fall into place.
Philip worked day in and day out to create content for the project. He wrote 12 songs for 2012 and called the album Countdown to the Darkest Hour. He later changed the title to Countdown to the hour of Darkness because a movie came out called the Darkest Hour. Philip then recorded all the guitar, bass, and borrowed some electronic drums in order to make demo for the ideas of the band. He even created content for a comic book that will be released as the adventures of the X1Z1.
One day while at work Philip encountered a customer that seemed vaguely familiar. It took a few moments for him to register who he was looking at when he realized it was a drummer he played with in high school. The two first met in speech class where they did a cover of a Tyler from the Toadies. Rob told Philip that he was in a band called gods joke and that he had finished school in graphic design. He also went on to say that he went to school for audio engineering and that he was available to collaborate.
Now Rob and Phil are working on some of the finishing touches on the album and are creating content for the project. The X1Z1 is now the only hope the world has left.
