Megan McMillan's sound is soulful, sassy, and undeniably country. Influenced by country greats like Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Loretta Lynn, and Merle Haggard, and drawing influence from rockers such as Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, this Pinetucky, Alabama native marches to the beat of her own drum.
Megan's songs can be deeply lyrical, melodically unique, humorous, and gut-wrenchingly honest.
Megan says about her writing, "It's always been a very emotional thing for me. Any feeling or experience, I write about it. I just hope I portray my emotion to the listener, because that's what music is all about, making you feel something".
Being so deeply connected to the songs she is performing makes for an intense stage presence, whether rocking out in her recently released up-tempo “Rodeo” or pouring her heart out in the dark ballad “Reaper”. Her diverse influences have given birth to a unique style that is all her own.
Currently touring, writing, and recording her debut EP in Nashville; and being a wife and mother of two, this hard-working artist has the talent and drive to be successful. Megan plans to independently release her debut EP in January 2015.
