collinwade / Bio

Collin’s songwriting career began at the age of 12 with his first collaboration. He wrote for the next few years about teenage angst and used songwriting as a musical diary. In the 1980’s he took musical theory and classical guitar, then began collaboration with his instructor through his new musical relationship.
He was one of the founding members of the Vancouver Songwriter’s Co-op; a group of dedicated and talented individuals who helped each other achieve their musical and creative best. Out of this co-op developed Collin’s most prolific collaboration with Greg Groat. Several of their songs received very positive feedback at the Los Angeles Songwriter’s Showcase and from WEA Chappell in Toronto as well as Picalic Music in Nashville.
Marriage, parenthood and the untimely death of collaborator Greg Groat in 2003 put Collin’s songwriting on hold for a few years. Collin began writing again in 2007 and a few songs were completed until spring 2011 when a friend a fellow songwriter Suzanne McNeil in Boston began an online workshop “Artists Way” which Collin participated in. The creative juices began to flow and Collin penned more than sixty songs in the last six months of 2011. He is currently demoing his strongest material which is currently being pitched in Nashville by Chris Keaton Productions.
