Neder & Gray’s project is an idea that came unexpectedly, as a result of Matheus Neder, a guitar player from Brazil, started posting his own instrumental music on ReverbNation.com (website focused on the independent music industry).
Johnny Gray, a singer and writer from UK, contacted Neder asking him for permission to put lyrics and vocal melodies over the top of the instrumental tracks. Matheus agreed and ever since their partnership has flourished.
Both Neder and Gray are capable of recording and editing by themselves and they swap recorded files over internet. Neder plays guitar (usually three lines) and bass on all tracks and Gray is responsible for all voice lines and lyrics. The drums have been done with collaboration of friends such Daniel Starling and Pedro Alves.
On a regular basis, once or twice a month, Neder makes an instrumental composition and emails them to Gray. Gray puts his vocals over the top and emails them to Neder. Neder makes the final mixes. That’s how it works. Amazing thing, the internet!!!
They have produced several tracks together and most will be released on their first album that will be called Across the Ocean, a reference to the distance between Neder and Gray. They are already working on a second album.
To date, Neder and Gray haven’t met in person, but that, surely, only adds to their music creativity and innovative way of composing and writing good rock music. They do, however, really hope that they can, one day meet up in person and even perform their music live.
Neder and Gray would like to think that you, the reader, will become regular listeners to their music and promote it to your friends.
