Michael Santoscoy- I started playing at the age of 11 with a broken guitar teaching myself little by little what sound went with what, and eventually started writing my own music. After 3 months of teaching myself guitar, I wrote my first song with lyrics about the struggles I'd face. I would use this method to take my mind of being hungry or cold at night for the fact the our family was very poor growing up, but now use it as a way to escape the world into my own. My inspirations are my older brother, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Dave Mathews, Brand New, Arctic Monkeys, and many more. One thing I know is that with out music life has no color.
Mary Moreck- Growing up as a tomboy, I decided to pick up a guitar around 6th or 7th grade. My friend and I would just play for fun and try to teach ourselves how to play using tabs and Youtube. This first got me interested in playing music and several years after that I decided to also pick up the Rockband game and that's where my drumming began. I think that game is really what taught me how to play drums over the years of just playing it because I never got lessons, but after getting a real drumset around 2012, I was able to play simply because I was able to keep beat. As soon as I started joining bands for the first time when I moved to El Paso I experienced music in an entirely new way and it has become one of the biggest and most important parts of my life.
