Pete Romanowski, aka Europica is a bass player from the UK who started to play at the age of 24. His first band was a rock outfit called Motorboat who played their original songs around Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Bedfordshire in the 80's. This lead them to being plugged by the late great John Peel. Compared with the Pink Fairies one of their many gigs involved raising money to help out a mate so he could pay his fine, after he got arrested at a fox hunt demonstration. Such was the spirit of this band who also did benefits for Amnesty International.
In the 90's Pete was invited to join three bands. "Handy", "The Nightshift" and "Chicken Inspectors", (the latter name taken from a Daffy Duck cartoon). They gained local media exposure, in the press and on Radio. Their highlight was playing the Bedfordshire Millennium Festival in the beautiful grounds of Shuttleworth House which was the biggest event of any kind to be held in the County. They also did some benefit gigs for local charities. Pete's favourite gig with this band however was in a tiny pub with a highly charged atmosphere on St Patricks night. To be sure to be sure.
Here Pete showcases some of his collaborations and solo works, ranging from World to Reggae to Orchestral to Jazz, The first two, which are free to download, are collaborations done over the internet. Over time more tracks will be added. Enjoy the music here and if you'd like to comment or become friends then please feel free to do so.
