Bradford Wood is a musician living in Charleston, WV. His current mission is to provide quality music and excite the public to support the local music scene. His music career started in 1986 as a bass player in the high school jazz band, church band and later several local bands in the Los Angeles, CA area. During his service in the U.S. Army he played in a band named Firestorm. This group played cover songs and hosted concerts at local area clubs in Korea. They played for U.S. soldiers stationed overseas. Once starting a family Brad played in another band briefly before taking a five year hiatus.
In 1996 Brad began learning digital recording and playing guitar. He ultimately started Wood Boys Music, which is now owned and operated by his wife and manager, Dawn Wood. This company now provides sound reinforcement for concerts in the Charleston, WV area as well as operating a small recording studio. The company often provides sound for benefit concerts at no charge and sponsors an annual charity concert for local soldier’s families. Bradford is the sound engineer for the company’s recording studio and live sound departments. The company also manages numerous local bands. His three sons also help with the business and play in local bands, Born of Conviction and Harrah.
Bradford also has a successful aviation career. He began working on helicopters in the military. This was followed by two years of college in Fresno, CA where he earned his mechanic certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration. He worked many years in general aviation. His work now involves providing educational outreach to teach pilots and aircraft mechanics how to avoid aircraft accidents. He is currently close to completing his B.S. degree in aviation maintenance management at Mountain State University.
Bradford continues to write music and has written dozens of songs over the last fifteen years. In his solo recording project, Bradford played piano, guitar, drums, and bass as well as lead and backing vocals.
Bradford looks forward to writing songs for or with successful artists or a recording contract with a major label. He lives his life for music and simply loves being a part of the music scene.
