I started playing professionally when I was 15. I got my first singing gig at Pala Mesa Country Club performing between the sets of a three piece light jazz combo. It was my first regular gig and I was totally jazzed about it! My mom had to drive me there since I didn't even have a license yet(!) (The bar closed at 2am so I slept between my sets;-)
Since that time I've performed in venues from the Tacoma Dome to the World Parliament of Religions in Melbourne, Australia, from Fanueil Hall in Boston to Kerr McGee Plaza in Oklahoma City and from Balboa Park in San Diego to the Capitol building in Washington D.C. I write and perform music for audiences of all ages.
Much of my music is my attempt to express my joy in discovering the absurdities, delights and mysteries of life, and my random wanderings as I ask and find answers to the basic life questions we all ask.
Recent recordings include:
* "Pondpaddler's Fandango" a CD for children,
* "Love Songs of Heaven and Earth"
* "Songs My Father Taught Me"
All are available on my web site, www.francyl.com and many can be heard on this website.
