The Heart Attacks were conceived at the Crows Nest on a summer night in 2013, during a Songwriters Round Night in which David Rhodes Brown and “Lonesome” Jared were on the same line up. This was the first time they had heard or met each other, but they instantly knew that they needed to collaborate. With the addition of Marc Hoffman on the double bass, they formed a trio of musicians with different backgrounds, but with the same desire to keep classic honky tonk sounds alive. When you combine the large repertoire of songs written and sung by Jared, the electrifying tones of David’s steel guitar, and the blues influenced style of Marc’s bass thumpin, you get a high energy mix of classic honky tonk country, rockabilly, and swingin boogie blues. The melodies and rhythms will make you swear you’re in a 1950’s deep south honky tonk, but the lyrics take somewhat of a modern tone that almost anyone can relate. Each every song these cats play is a true story. The primary goal of Lonesome Jared and The Heart Attacks is to keep a dying style alive, and to deliver fun and good times to anyone who comes to see them live.
