Marla Rubenstein is a songwriter from the Hartford, CT area. She has been excited about music and singing since elementary school, and has always loved to write; so its is not surprising that she'd venture into the realm of songwriting as an adult. She actually 'fell' into songwriting - literally! Due to a fall which badly injured her shoulder, she was sidelined from some of her favorite activities, which included weightlifting and dancing. All the vibrance and energy she had for those activities got channeled into songwriting. She hopes her music makes you think and feel deeply, as well as make your toes tap! Since she doesn't play an instrument, her creative process involves singing her ideas into her cellphone's voicenotes feature, and then connecting with instrumentalists to help bring her song ideas to fruition. Nasvhille Songwriters Association International has reviewed some of Marla's songs, and she has gotten feedback that said: "congratulations...you are one to watch!" Marla has written a jingle for MidSouth Music out of Memphis, and has also been interviewed on WESU, a local CT radio ,show with other interviews coming up! Marla also holds a CT License as Marital and Family Therapist, and enjoys her work in the school system counseling at-risk youth.
