When James Dawson takes the stage and grabs the microphone, the audience is in for a journey, a journey into his world, his life, and his experiences. Immediately getting into stories navigating through his life, the audience is pulled into the narration, laughing at the range and style of his humor.
As a late bloomer of physical growth, James used humor as a self-defense mechanism to avoid schoolyard embarrassment by kids much bigger than him. As the school years passed and the inches stacked on, so did his love for the art of comedy. James began absorbing all brands of comedy through any outlet available: Comedy Central, HBO specials, and any comedy album (actually cassette tapes) he could get his hands on.
While completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Arizona State University, James performed at, The Comedy Spot in Scottsdale, on open mic night. Ten minutes and four genuine laughs later an addiction for performing live comedy was born.
After a summer of open mic bars in San Francisco, James returned to his hometown, Rancho Cucamonga, and has become a regular fixture on the Los Angeles comedy scene. He works in every major club from Los Angeles to San Diego and back again.
In the spring of 2012, James linked up with the crew as one of the talented hosts of the Silly Ass Podcast. This diverse and talented group of comedians works together to write, act, produce, and film sketches that are hilarious and one of a kind.
