What happens if two guys decide to go to Nashville to record a country album? Right, they go to Nashville and just do it!
The interesting point about it is that these two guys live in Germany, about 5000 miles away from Nashville. Even more interesting might be the fact that none of the guys is a country musician. So, Markus Kern, performer of the project, originally is a rock’n’roll drummer and Tobias Kurrle a successful guitar player and producer of anything but country-music. Markus quickly renamed himself Kashew, made this his solo project and they went on this trip back in 2006.
Several Nashville studio cracks gave their best in the recording sessions and finally 11 tracks made their way on “Come with me”. The result is definitely the most German-Nashville-sounding-record you’ve ever listened to!
In February 2012 Kashew released his second solo-record called “Rough Surface”. In a way his music seems to have grown up and he has started feeling comfortable in the position of a country-like singer and songwriter. With the first single “No promises” Kashew was gaining more and more attention to a growing fan base. Now he has set up a new 6-men-band and is performing Kashew tunes all over Germany.
