J Allen / Bio

Justin Allen Mercurio a.k.a J Allen was raised in Revere, Massachusetts. He got into music at the age of six when he played his first keyboard. A year later his grandparents had him make a promise that if they bought him an upright piano he would never stop playing. As a kid J.Allen got a lot of his inspiration from watching his uncle DJ Master Millions spin at a lot of big events and concerts,

" It was like he had complete control over the crowd at all times, it was pretty inspiring" - J Allen.

J Allen, who was born February 5,1989, moved out to Tampa, Florida after high school to work with a few artists and got himself his first video off winning a hip hop competition "From The Bottom To The Top". He moved back two years later, and started recording/engineering at Split2nd Studio with Mike Cip. Spending the next year basically living in the studio J.Allen wrote song after song and built his Catalog up.

Thats when he started working with Desi Desmond and Panauh Kalayeh getting musical compositions placed on tv shows like "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and "Love and Hip hop".

In 2012, J Allen released his compilation album/mix tape "Occupy Her Mind" with two other artist Ben Carew and G Montana with "Making Love" Produced by J Allen being the single off the project. Relantless on never giving in J Allen kept to his passion and to the words to his grandmother that he would never give up.

Taking a break from Film and TV, J Allen then started working on his latest project but with in the year ended up losing his bestfriend to a drug overdose and found himself in the hospital for a virus that was caught on his heart called "Myopericarditis". Putting him out of commission for 6 months he had nothing else to do but turn to music. He wrote song after song trying to inspire people with his words which then led to the creation of the "Believe In Music" Project. "Got it Bad" is the first single being released and the album will be coming out summer of 2015. Currenty J Allen has been on over 800 episodes of tv, and has opened up for a few acts like D'Angelo, Young Jezzy, but he stays humble and knokws he has a long road ahead of him.

"When all else fails just believe in music" says J Allen.

J Allen does an amazing job at letting his emotion shine thru his music. Having the ability to write, sing, rap, produce, engineer, play the piano, and guitar J Allen is the complete package in todays music industry.
