In 1992 we started The Ignored out of boredom. It was a good thing that we could play because we might 4 of the ugliest fucks on the planet. But enough about us, on to us. We played into 1995 I think and went on to do other shit. We were rare in the sense that we all meshed so well together at such a young age. I mean all of us were 16. I think Jason may have even been 15 when we started. And we wrote good songs too. Of course it didn't hurt that we had and still have one of the best fucking drummers that there is in Matt Smith.
After our 1st show the owner of the club came and ask us if we would play with The Queers 2 weeks later. After that we had opening gigs with bands like SUBMACHINE, Blanks 77, The Queers (a few more times), and who could forget the DxIx show huh?
But like most kids we didn't know what we were doing...until now 20 years later...
Jason & Nate went to form The Hard Luck Kids who played everywhere under the sun from California all the way back to their humble home here in Atlanta. After that band was done Jason spent 8 years playing with the band he started after that with The Bitter End. We now both play in Heroin Bomb, an ATL Punk/Thrash band.
Me, (Jeremy) I went on to play with The Oswalds. That didn't last long until I drank my way out of that band. So then I started Stool Sample. That's all I need to say about it. In 2006 I joined Brooklyn, NY's The Deacons. I still play part-time gigs with them whenever my wallet permits.
Nate, after The Hard Luck Kids stayed in California to end up making all of us look good. He is a successful bar owner. He let's Punk and Metal bands play there.
Matt, well, Matt is Matt. After The Ignored he joined Stool Sample with me and started going to The Atlanta Institute of Music. He finished school and played in like 6,000 bands. I'm serious. I'll have to ask him to name all of the fucking bands he's been in.
Now we are back. October 2012 will see a full length record and a show Oct. 5th with all 4 Original members playing all the classics. New music, old music, all the music we can write. This time we know what we are doing.
