Welcome to the world of SANCTION VIII.
Since its birth in Tacoma, Wa in Febuary of 2005, this band has quickly become a musical force that should not be overlooked. Starting as a three-piece unit with only drums, vocals, and one guitar, the band was known as Section VIII, a humorous reference to our prior military service. Playing the first six months of existence without a bass player and stunning local crowds, we quickly began to catch everyones eyes and ears. However, the departure of the drummer and an attempt to avoid legal issues with the band name forced the decision to change our name to SANCTION VIII and start a new unit. We searched for a bass player and a new drummer, and within a few weeks we found the perfect musicians for the job. As the unit you see today, we are determined to become a successful band. Dedicated to making real music for real people, we will always be unpredictable and stay true to ourselves as musicians. We have played over 200 shows in the state of Washington, always impressing the locals with our performances and energy levels. We've managed to create our own sound and make original music. In todays metal music scene, originality is a rarity. We are a live band. In Febuary 2006, we decided to go into Synergy Productions. With limited finances and time, we recorded all the tracks in two days, including triple tracks for the vocals and double tracks for all the guitars. We put a lot of hard work and effort into making our first cd entitled Step Inside My World. With the help of producer Jason Ott, we completed nine songs of raw metal madness. We then sent our mastered cd to Streamline Mulitmedia to be manufactured, and the final product left us with a sense of accomplishment. We released our debut cd at Hells Kitchen in Tacoma, Wa on March 17th , 2006, in front of a packed house of more than a hundred people, and we received an overwhelming response. We rolled on strong after that playing with National Acts such as; Powerman 5000, Metal Church, Joey Belladonna, Asesino, Prong and more. After a long road of shows, getting burnt out and tension we called it quits around 2008. But after a few years of people telling us they wanted us back and the fire that still burned inside us we decided to get back together for a reunion show (just one show planned) in late 2011. We haven't stopped since. We went into the studio to record a new CD in June of 2012 and are just about to put the finishing touches on it as we speak. Looking at a Feb 8th 2013 release. This is only the first chapter, so get ready for the ride of your life and prepare to become a part of
SANCTION VIII. Look out 2013!!
