Friends Ministry began in the summer of 2009 with just enough vocalists to create a perfect harmony. The group consisted of two sopranos, three altos, and three tenors, all of which were young, saved, energetic, Quad Citians excited to share the Gospel through their gift of singing with the community. The group was spearheaded by Elder Sam Mack Sr., a preacher, teacher, talented musician, friend, and lover of unified music.
The objective behind Friends Ministry became “unified praise” and adopted the phrase “One Band, One Sound”, believing that when it comes to praising God, there is no race, gender, or denomination that will rank over the other. Therefore, Friends is made up of members from churches across the Quad City Area from Catholic to Pentecostal, thus the adopted phrase, “One Band, One Sound”.
Friends has had the opportunity to sing in the several different cities and a host of venues, both local a regional. Today, Friends stands strong in the ministry God has both blessed and equipped. With a goal and commitment to minister, not only through song but, through unified praise.
