Shanae aka "SQUEAKY" MONROE is an American Indian mixed breed unconventional multi-faceted entertainer, singer/songwriter from Hollis, Queens and was raised in Bedford Stuyvestant/Bushwick, Brooklyn. She has been longing to live her dreams ever since she was young. She started off in a church choir of Queens, New York, singing at the age of 2. Whether it's hip-hop, r&b, rap, gospel, pop or rock...she will do it! Shanaè started dancing when she was just 3 years old and at age 6, progressed her way on up to the top at one of the biggest dance schools known in QUEENS, NYC, Devore Dance Center of Hollis, Queens [and still present to date]. At 14, Shanaè revamped alongside dance leader and friend, Tiffany Roberts with the dance group "S. S. Hip-Hop Style" from South-Jamaica, Queens, where she demonstrated her choreography skills. She's performed all over from BET's 106 and Park (Wild Out Wednesdays), ALL STARS dance competitions & MTV's Boost Mobile Rock Corps. You have EVEN seen her on the TYRA BANKS SHOW (in 2006 with Chris Brown & NE-YO) “STOMP THE YARD” movie-premiere episode! She's even won the hearts of Mary J.Blige & Beyoncè Knowles (helping choreograph her dance troupe’s performance for “Bey’s” 25th B-day Celebration on 106&Park)to name a few. SQUEAKY encourages her youth to get their G.E.D or Diploma! She traveled alongside hip-hop legend(RIP)-Jam Master Jay's brother Marvin Thompson & Latino GED Spokesman Martin Danenberg with the JMJ 4 Youth Foundation & Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council (Charles Fisher, Larry Love & Lance Feurtado) throughout the tri-state to speak out to her peers, the youth & the hispanic/latinos/black community about education, gang-violence, sex and drugs, etc. In 2009, at just 19 years old, she was diagnosed with a fatal illness called " hydrocephallus", a benign cyst in her brain and had to get it removed and it put her career on hold but that didn't stop her for long! She went right back to performing all throughout her community showing & proving that she is a living testimony and a SURVIVOR! She recovered miraculously & gives thanks to GOD and her remarkable surgeons @ LIJ Schneiders Children's Hospital for saving her life and giving her another chance at life that not many survive at battling! She continues to performs all throughout her neighborhood giving back, encouraging and REMINDNIG her fellow peers that they CAN DO anything they set their minds to, NOTHING can hold you back! You can BECOME a positive force and acheive the unevitable ONLY if you PUT GOD FIRST. She wishes to master ALL trades of music in hopes of touching many lives with her traumatic and amazing story. She is investing in her own business/BRAND and works with non-profit organizations such as #LuisDanversLeukemiaFund @SharonTurnage (mentor & management) in hopes of spreading knowledge about different (brain)cancers & leukemia in hopes of finding a bone marrow match for her 9-yr-old son.
