Johnny Zapp / Bio

If you like 4-on-the-floor ROCK...straight up, shaken not stirred, and the HUGE guitars and drums that have vanished from rock and roll so long ago, welcome. Gig after gig, year after year, one rockstar pose after another...Johnny Zapp decided to hang up the live scene and reach into his bucket of vast influences to make rock and roll music that he himself would listen to, and it just so happens others are tuned in as well. A Huntington Beach, Ca native, his roots cannot be denied in his sound. Not only does geography play a huge part in his vibe, but the songs could be those of a supergroup comprised of members of Social Distortion, Cheap Trick, New York Dolls, The Cult, T. Rex and The Stooges to name a few. Recorded out of Johnny's studio, Zapp City Studios, the tracks typically feature Johnny on all guitars, bass, drums, percussion and vocals, with the occasional guests such as Matt aka: Fido of The Jack Rollers on vocals and guitar, Chad MacDonald of Bullet Boys/Gene Loves Jezebel on bass and Roger Cardillo on drums. Zapp has a growing career writing rock singles for film and television projects and brings some of the tracks to FM rock radio and to fans worldwide as well. Thank God for that! Here's to vintage Les Pauls, Flying V's, Thunderbird's, Marshalls and 26 inch kick drums! Remember how to shake your ass??
