- About the band:
The Steadies are a high energy power trio from Saskatoon SK Canada, who mix pop, rock, dub and funk with rock steady and reggae influences, creating their own genre, "island-rock". No matter your mood, The Steadies pick you up and carry you to the beach in your mind, the club in your dreams, the place you go to clear your head and dance. It’s a scene where rumbling fault lines rip open the dance floor, and the only thing that keeps you from falling over is the gravitational pull of the steady beat. The Steadies aren’t invited to the party---they are the party.
Their newest full-length album Love Revolution (Spring 2016) is an ode to the band's rock-steady roots and offers an electrifying collection of radio-worthy originals and festival style party anthems. Previous releases have earned the band a Top-50 commercial radio hit and a Western Canadian Music Award nomination.
Ever the road warriors, The Steadies play upwards of 100 shows each year, making them one of the busiest bands in Saskatchewan. They have headlined numerous festivals, showcased at industry events and have shared the stage with Ziggy Marley, The Roots, Blue Rodeo, The Wailers and more.
About The Steadies' Frontman
Earl Pereira got his rock n’ roll pedigree as a founding member of the popular Canadian band Wide Mouth Mason, who had two gold records, three JUNO nominations, and a host of other accolades and awards. Pereira has toured the world, playing over 3000 shows and opening for iconic artists like the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Nelly Furtado. He was named one of Canada’s top bass players by Canadian Music Magazine and has been featured on MTV, Muchmusic, and the Ryan Seacrest Show, as well as in publications like Rolling Stone Magazine and The National Post. Between 1996 and 2010, Pereira co-produced and co-wrote much of Wide Mouth Mason’s award-winning catalogue. He has worked with a roster of legendary producers including David Leonard (Paul McCartney, Prince), Joel Van Dyke (Aerosmith, Bryan Adams) and Todd Burke (Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Johnny Cash). In 2010, with demand for his side project on the rise, Pereira left Wide Mouth Mason to pursue The Steadies full-time.
