After 50 years of playing music suffice to say that I've been around some great players and people that influenced me more than I could realize. I grew up playing honky-tonks and juke joints in the barren oil fields of West Texas starting the mid 60's on. From jamming with Mance Lipscomb on his front porch in Navasota Tx., to subbing in John Lee Hookers band, to doing shows with Lightnin' Hopkins and Fredie King, they all ingrained their music and feel deep into my soul. Playing with "Uncle" John Turner, Robin Syler and my close friend Stevie Vaughn, they all their mark on my character and music. At this point in my life I find myself going back to my early roots as a young acoustic guitarist playing my beloved country blues. Soon I'll be recording new music in the spirit of Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson and others.
