Drawn to the Midwest by promises of a bright and stable career, Gary Green and Erick Holter decided to create a band that would soon be known as “Roadside Ghost”. As the music grew into something extraordinary and fresh the duo realized the college life wasn’t the life for them. In February of 2011 they returned to their home land, the always sunny Corona, California, where their sound was combined with the rhythmic styles of Jon Young and low frequencies of Steve Andino. Roadside Ghost was born.
In May of 2011 they hit the studio, and with a combined total of four studio days at ELR-Recording Studio they had completed their four track demo just in time for their first concert. On June 2nd and 3rd Roadside Ghost played at RCC’s spring concert to an audience of roughly eighty strangers per night. To their surprise they sold thirty five CD’s the first night and twenty five CD’s the second night. In other words, they rocked the house!
Some would say that they sound like Nirvana, others might say Bob Segar, but in their eyes they like to think they are “a breath blown from the 60’s, captured by the winds of the 80’s and 90’s, to form a sound that’s familiar but new”. Inspired by the ones who’ve captured the hearts and minds of millions, they have blended the sounds we all love, into to something that will be loved by all.
