Reagan Lee Jobe / Bio

Reagan Lee Jobe was born in Austin Texas (Travis County) . His family moved to Fort Worth (Tarrant County) when he was just 18 months old and have resided in Fort Worth ever since. Reagan really remembers being introduced to music when his father would watch music specials on tv and at the time this "new" thing called HBO. Besides the Cowboy game, it was the only time he had heard his dad become excited by something on tv. This was when Reagan was first introduced to B.B. King, Chuck Berry, The Eagles, Elvis, and other musicians.

It was at that time in his life that he dreamed of having a recording studio and of becoming a musician. After having a cheap electric guitar and a Yamaha Classical nylon string acoustic guitar (an estate sale special) that were hard to keep in tune. Reagan convinced his dad that he was serious about the guitar. Reagans father purchased a mid eighties Fender Stratocaster for him when he was 12. After taking lessons for a year, his playing progressed. One day after a trip to ape Music Reagan fell in love with a beat up early 60's Gibson SG with Dot fret board and P-90's. Reagan begged and pleaded for the early 60's Gibson SG. He traded in the Strat for an SG and Reagan became hooked on Gibsons especially SG's and Les Paul Double Cuts. Reagan played in a high school band called Suiciety. They were primarily a heavy punk band. Suiciety achieved as much successs as most High school bands get. They were popular, Recorded original material, played parties, and all age shows. But internal friction and a feeling that as happy as Reagan was with the music he hated the singing. "Linc just screamed a bunch of stuff it sounded like shit to me" says Reagan. "It was sad I wanted it to work" says Reagan "It just didn't". " I did what I was asked to. I learned to play the songs but I was never asked to put anything original into them." Reagan played briefly with a band called Pimpadelic. Pimpadelic had a house, record deal , were making a video. Success was on the horizon but internal drug use and a whole new level of internal conflicts ripped the band apart. Wisely Reagan saw what was going on and backed out before he ever really got started.

At that time, Reagan had to get a "real job" and the guitar was not first priority. After building and selling two businesses, Reagan decided to race motorcycles professionally. For 5 years, Reagan raced motorcycles in the AMA, CMRA, and WERA Roadracing organizations. Reagan quickly became pro and fulfilled another childhood dream. He was now a two time Superbike champion and was General Manager of Italian Motororts in Dallas. Reagan's ability to get sponsors and his kind demeanor helped him succeed at racing. Most importantly, the work ethic that his father engrained into him had paid off.

Then unfortunatley, in 2002, Reagan broke his back. Most would think that it was caused by a motorcycle accident, but it turned out to be advanced degenerative disc disease. The next twelve years were spent in and put of hospitals getting 8 different surgical procedures. During that time, in pain and heavily medicated, he managed to start another business, Jobe Motorsports. Jobe Motorsports was the most successful business so far and attained global sales. Reagan closed Jobe Motorsports in 2012 in order to sell it.

His wife since 2010, Lisa, had brought him a Takamini acoustic one day. Heloved it and played it, but long work hours prevented him from pursuing it further. One day Reagan came home and his wife had bought him a small Peavy modeling amplifier. Reagan plugged in the Takamini and a switch flipped in his mind. He remembered every song he had ever been taught and was soon playing for hours everyday. Lisa then surprised him with an Epiphone SG that was liked the one he had as a child. After having to sell his prized early SG the year before to pay medical bills, it was like having his old guitar back.

Since that time, Reagan has not stopped playing. He now owns two Gibsons, an '06 Les Paul double cut and a '10 Gibson SG. His Gibson sound with his vintage Marshall tube amp has become his trademark. Reagan is mostly self taught and only had lessons for a year and a half when he was thirteen. His playing leans towards distorted blues to Santana-like rhythms. So far Reagan has just made a few homemade demos and videos. He recently competed in the Battle of the Blues contest at Guitar Center missing moving to the next round by just one point. He is currently trying forming a band and is pursuing music full time for the first time in his life. Although he has only sung on one of his tracks, he is dedicated to honing his vocal skills. He is looking forward to what the future brings in music and getting back in touch with his roots.
