Buildings on the Moon is a melodic hard rock group hailing from Seattle, Washington. Their sound has been described as a flurry of beautiful melodic ideas blending with driving bass tones and powerful harmonizations.
The band was formed in early 2011 and is composed of Peter Nierman (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Lingol (guitar), Robin Grether (Bass), and Drew Newman (drums, backup vocals). Buildings on the Moon came to fruition when front-man, Peter Nierman, returned from a brief stint in Spokane to find that longtime friends, Ryan, Robin and Drew, were periodically jamming at Bellevue's Evolution Studios. One night Peter joined in and the rest is history.
Since the band's formation, Buildings on the Moon has been working diligently to sculpt their sound and build a name for themselves in the Seattle music scene. In February of 2012, Buildings on the Moon released its debut EP, entitled Worlds Away. Since the release of the Worlds Away EP, the band has been working tirelessly, playing shows as often as possible and writing new music. The band recently competed in the final 12 at The Hard Rock Cafe Seattle's Battle of the Bands competition, beating out over 800 other competing bands in the Seattle area and getting the opportunity to perform at The Hard Rock Seattle on February 24th.
As Buildings on the Moon continues to establish a larger fan base and play more shows throughout Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, be sure to check out one of their shows and to experience their powerful music in a live setting.
