Thrash groove metal spawned from the cornfields of T-county in 1991. hell bent on spewing vomit upon the machine...sarcasm and sinister collide in a storm of anger upon our oppressors. For fans of metallica ,pantera, prong, slayer, megadeth, anthrax, testament, iron maiden and black sabbath. -craig
Nuxvomica formed in late 1991. Craig & I(scott) have been friends & metalheads since 1st grade. at the time in 1991, I was with a band that formed in high school with friends we grew up with & craig was our manager / biggest supporter. Matt had played drums for a short time with us, is how i met him. we met seth by chance threw word of mouth at a party.
seth & matt convinced us that scuttling the sinking ship we were aboard & starting new was the way to go. so fast forward threw the drama of killing my 1st band & loosing friends, a 3 piece Nuxvomica was born. all we needed was a lead player. our 1st "lead" player was a guy named dave, who played maybe 3 "shows" & got fired. 2nd lead player was mike harrold, who played from late 1992-1993. 3rd lead player was sean boron, who was there from1994 to the end.
Nuxvomica released 1 full length "studio" cassette Nuxvomica, 2 EP "studio" cassettes Childs Play & the Cheap Assed Single, 1 live show on cassette the Harmony Gig at ron's crossroads.we were working on a full length project witch we were going to put on cd & try to tour for when things ended "abruptly" to say the least. "we had built our own soundproof room in seth's house for rehearsal & recording. we hired our sound dude andreas to set up his studio & record for 7days. everything was great got all the main stuff recorded & rough mixed. all we needed to do was make some adjustments, track in a few things, & add the studio magic. we had a show coming up so we stopped with the recording & got ready for the show, played it. the next time we were supposed to get together to practice sean & I showed up to a meeting where we were told unless we start making some real $$$ its over."-scott
fast forward 20 years..... craig & I are still friends n still metalheads. over the years he pleaded for refomation of that band, or to just release what material we had. finally craig took it on himself to raise nuxvomica from its grave. he started these pages posted the songs & even tried to get the unfinished album remixed. an actual live playing version of the band is up in the air. "I never wanted the band to end, so I'd give it a shot"-scott sean says he would play. matt lives half a world away has a family & a real life so no for him. seth says he is out also. so two members do not make a band & we would change the name any way.
the name thing..... in 1991 when seth pitched the name Nuxvomica there were few choices to see if a name was available.(no internet to just do some searches.) A) trade mark it. witch involved hiring a trade mark lawyer & $$$, or make the trip to washington dc & research it yourself at the trade mark place & spend the $$$ to secure it. or B) poor man tm it, witch meant mail it to yourself & if problems ever arise you just pull out the unopened envelope with the postmark date & go to court. we went with B. we did check in as many record stores as we could across the state to see if the name was in any of the catalogs that they ordered from. by the time we broke up we knew of 4 others in the world. today we know of at least 6 others. all i can say is twisted minds think alike.
