The Walking Shadows are a gothic metal quartet from Chicago, IL, playing a dramatic tumult of music inspired by groups like Danzig, Peter Murphy, and Marilyn Manson. These songs are a knife in your heart.
Craig Winston leads the Shadows like some gaunt and towering axe-man, a guitar villain with a chilling bass voice and a pension for horror stories. Across the stage, his identical twin, Mark Winston, rocks and sways with every spectral drone of his synths and the frantic clamor at his pianos. John Sturm’s drums thunder with Justin Devalliere’s bass lines, giving the Walking Shadows a haunting, other-worldly pulse.
The Walking Shadows have performed throughout the midwest and into New England; in Chicago at Subterranean, Double Door, Goose Island Brew Pub, Schuba’s, Reggie’s, Elbo Room, Red Line Tap, the Abbey Pub, and Martyrs’; Kitty Cat Klub and Cause in Minneapolis; Cicero’s in St. Louis; Club Garibaldi in Milwaukee; and Tommy Doyle’s in Boston. The Shadows have been featured on a number of regional radio shows, music blogs and online music magazines. They are currently recording a 7 song collection titled “Artless Violence” which will be released this spring, with “Blood on Our Hands” being the first single
