Dynazty is a melodic heavy metal band originating from Stockholm, Sweden.
After forming in early 2008, the band in mere four years recorded and released three studio albums. Released in 2009, Dynazty’s first effort “Bring The Thunder” was released. Followed up by 2011’s “Knock You Down”, which gave the band their first #1 spot on the Swedish metal charts, climbing to #21 at the mainstream charts. The successor the following year, entitled “Sultans Of Sin” maintained the climb on the Swedish charts by peaking at #8 on the mainstream charts.
Despite the ongoing momentum the band after a tour with fellow Swedish bands Sabaton and Raubtier, put things to a halt in late 2012 to plan their future thoroughly. During this period founding member and bassplayer Joel Fox Apelgren left the band when he no longer felt that he could give the band 100%. This was however not the the only change within the camp. Dynazty also parted ways with both their management and record company. A change in sound was in development as the writing process of a new album entitled “Renatus” started and lasted throughout the first 6 months of 2013. Singer Nils Molin said during this time:
“After 4 years, 3 studio albums and shows on almost every continent of the globe we took the time in late 2012 to really figure out what we wanted this band to be in the future.
“Updating ourselves both musically and sonically to place where we felt that we wanted to be right now was paramount and once we started to write “Renatus” everything fell into place well.
Heavier and faster- paced music with big arrangements built around soaring vocal melodies is the recipe for this album.”
In the spring of 2013 Dynazty found their new bassplayer and bandmember in Jonathan Olsson and signed a record deal with Spinefarm records. “Renatus” was finally recorded in August/September the same year and marks the first album to have been produced by Dynazty themselves.
Awaiting release in early 2014, “Renatus” will see Dynazty starting their history anew.
