Madre / Bio

Madre, formed in early 2008 is a passionate band hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee. Playing music that has been described as "ambient progressive-folk rock and roll" Madre consists of four members who find inspiration in the people and places they encounter and care for. Cited for their original and ever evolving sound, Madre has released two Ep's and recently released their first full-length album "Parameters" which has been distributed through stores and online music sellers. Through constant gigging at home and regionally Madre has made a name for themselves in their home town and are now poised to tour relentlessly.

"The 12-song release (Parameters) features a wide spectrum of styles, making the band difficult to pigeonhole. Citing Radiohead as a major influence, Madre follows suit in its desire to evolve with each of its early outputs. Cultivating its sound from a launch pad of updated 90s-era grunge that falls somewhere between the crunchy guitar harmonies of Hum and the lilting vocal melodies of Abandoned Pools, Madre has since come into a style all its own."
