Avenida Zero is a Spanish pop-rock band from Miami formed in late October of 2010. Intense lyrics, big sound, catchy chord progressions and advanced production, identify their sound. Avenida Zero is rapidly placing its footprint in the Latin rock music community.
The band, comprised of lead singer Lisa Abreu, bassist Raydel Fernandez and drummer Gabriel Beltran, spent countless late nights writing music, as they knew would one day awe the world.
Abreu, raised in Miami, Florida had just moved back after having spent five years in New York City. Vocally trained since the young age of 14 and a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, was looking for a group of talented musicians who shared her dreams. Abreu quickly teamed up with her cousin, Fernandez, a heavily trained bassist and former student of Berklee and well-known local drummer, Beltran.
After much collaboration, they began to develop a unique identity. Immediately, Abreu, Beltran, and Fernandez began working 6 days out of the week and at some points 48-72 hours at a time. Together, they found a musical connection amongst each other and within three months Avenida Zero had created six hits as a part of their first self-titled EP.
After much struggle to publish their musical catalogue, and the addition of a new member, guitar player Ernesto Ortega, bass player Fernandez decides to leave the band. During the search for a new bass player, Abreu, Beltran and Ortega meet guitarist and bass player Carlos Teixeira. Carlos was the perfect addition to Avenida Zero, since he had been in the public rock scene for many years. His musical background and experience with Fonzie, a Portuguese rock band from Lisbon, completed the circle.
Avenida Zero, under the umbrella of AZ Entertainment, LLC, has now reengineered their first EP, now named “Corazones Rotos” and is underway to their first publishing deal. The EP is being released under the indi label Ink’d Records as BMI affiliated writers/publishers.
