My Highway / Bio

In the Great Smoky Mountains where moonshine stills, hard work and simply getting by is the way of life, a strong culture is born. This culture embodies family ties and good times, American struggle and countryside pride. Emerging from the hills of Carolina and representative of its rich culture is Western North Carolina’s hottest country music group, My Highway.
From singing high energy-rocking records to putting an emotional story to a melodic tune, My Highway’s music captivates the core of country music. Group members Josh Lane and Josh Beasley have always kept their foundation grounded through their Robbinsville, North Carolina roots. The guys grew up listening to various styles of music, but when it came to finding their path and solidifying their sound, Lane and Beasley combined their small town reality and down home upbringing with the influences of their favorite artists. Lane and Beasley describe their music as raw country with a splash of southern rock. My Highway cites Jason Aldean, Gary Allen, Lynard Skynard, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and George Strait, to name a few, as their top career influencers.
Whether playing an intimate acoustic show or performing in front of thousands, My Highway is most at home musically when they take the stage. The group started out performing covers of today’s hottest country songs in local clubs. Since, their popularity has skyrocketed and the rising country band has been rocking crowds across the southern region. My Highway is featured monthly at Essence, a club housed in Harrah’s Cherokee Casino – one of Billboard’s Top 20 Casino Nightclubs. They have performed afterparties for major artists from Ronnie Milsap, Little Big Town and Big & Rich to Jamey Johnson, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, and Sara Evans, and many others. My Highway has also been featured on ABC 13 WLOS Asheville’s Early Edition, where they played to an audience of over 500,000 viewers.
For three consecutive years, My Highway has been a welcomed part of Shinefest, a Moonshine Festival at the popular Western North Carolina Resort, Fontana Village. As repeat performers at Shinefest, My Highway has been honored to share the stage with respected country music artists such as Blackberry Smoke, The Black Lillies, Jim Lauderdale, Dean Dillon, Matt Stillwell, Ira Dean, Chase Rice, The Dirty Guvna’s and more.
In 2013, My Highway launched the viral release of their first single “Carolina Moonshine.” Originally written exclusively for the popular Discovery Channel television show Moonshiners, the record was released online and has achieved an army of views and new fans alike. My Highway will appear in a ninety minute special episode of Moonshiners in January 2014. The episode featuring My Highway is expected to achieve record breaking numbers for the television series. Also in 2013, My Highway inked a deal with music industry mogul, Debra Antney and her successful imprint, Mizay Music Group. Since joining the Mizay roster, My Highway has been professionally positioned to take the music industry by storm. From movie deals to endorsement opportunities, Lane and Beasley are definitely journeying on a new highway with Antney. Musically, Mizay Music Group has placed My Highway with top producers and music directors in country music, most notably including Bruce Bennett and Scott Patton, who work and achieve great success with the reputable and respected award-winning group, Sugarland. My Highway is currently working on their debut EP, to release in 2014, while simultaneously promoting their current single, film project, live performances and other marketing initiatives.
Along with their vocal talent and ability to play live instruments, Josh Lane and Josh Beasley are also songwriters, and members of BMI. Their debut single "Carolina Moonshine,” was recorded at Grammy-winning studio, Echo Mountain, in Asheville, NC, and is available on ITunes, and other digital distributors.

Founded in 2007 by Debra Antney, Mizay Music Group (formerly Mizay Entertainment) is responsible for catapulting the careers of Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, OJ Da Juiceman, Waka Flocka Flame, and more. Known for its results and impact in changing the climate of the music industry, Mizay Music Group is dedicated to evaluating and launching the careers of talented entertainers.
