John Neilson / Bio

John Neilson is an Austin TX based singer/songwriter. John has recently released 4th St. Sessionsproduced by Platinum Producer Jim Wirt(Something Corporate, LIVE, Jacks Mannequin, Incubus,ect). He has written songs with Sophie B Hawkins, LA GUNS, and others. 7 of his songs have been placed on MTV shows, and he has a licensing deal with Sony Pictures Television. John has tourned nationally with many artists, and opened for Bob Schneider, Mat Kearney, Patterson Hood, Jason Isbell&400 Unit, Joshua Radin, Kevin Devine, Jason Reeves, One Republic, and Sophie B. Hawkins to name a few. Adam Hamilton produced John's debut LP "If By Chance", written and recorded in Los Angeles in 2005.

From 2007-2009 John paired up with Mickey Fortune to do some vocals for Fortune's alter ego "Oh Snap!!". The 2 toured nationally in the US, and have been to Austrailia twice, most recently playing "Creamfields Festival" to over 13,000 peeps in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbaine. The 2 also opened for LMFAO, The Bloody Beetroots, and MSTRKRFT in OZ. The duo was signed to Moodswing360 out of NYC and played colleges all over the US with acts like Jay Sean, Sean Paul, Flobots, DEV, Cataracs, Far East Movement, Calexico, Z Trip, Glitch Mob, Shwayze, Das Racist, and many more.

These days John has moved back to ATX where is picking up where he left off with his Singer/Songwriter career. John just finished recording a new EP with his new band Wilkinson, due out in late 2012. Come out and check out a live show!!!!!!
