Just off great gigs at the NC State Fair, Town of Cary Friday Night Series, and the Brueprint Brewery, PEAK CITY BLUES PROJECT plays unique interpretations of classic blues, rhythm & blues and early rock'n'roll mixed in with their own material. Usually ranked in the top five of Blues Bands in the triangle by Reverbnation, PEAK CITY BLUES PROJECT is a very energetic six-man group that has years of musical experience.
PEAK CITY BLUES PROJECT has been playing for enthusiastic crowds in the Triangle and beyond since 2010. Screaming lead guitar, intelligent drumming, and driving bass are combined with rhythm guitar, reso, banjo, harmonica, percussion, keyboards and three members on vocals present a sound not commonly heard in blues. The band’s versatility allows them to play songs from the Beatles, Stones, Shirelles, Elmore James and Howlin’ Wolf. A PEAK CITY BLUES PROJECT show is energy from the first song to the last.
The players of PEAK CITY BLUES PROJECT have a variety of musical gifts. Larry Butterton has studied blues and rhythm & blues for many years and throws his energy and passion into harmonica, percussion and vocals, as well as songwriting. Mike Harris holds everything in place with precision bass and precise timing. Chris Kennedy has been playing multi‐rhythm drums for 25 years+, and has a background in metal, gospel, soul and straight ahead rock'n'roll. Gary Miller is a multi‐instrumentalist, vocalist and song writer who adds new colors to every song. Kevin Kidd is one of the outstanding lead guitar players in the Triangle area and is the driving rock force in the band. Tom Neuhauser plays keyboards and sings. Tom is a seasoned performer who has led many groups and tours the area playing solo club gigs.
