Need the perfect soundtrack for painting the town red?
Rat City Brass has you covered.
Inspired by the pop and sizzle of Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, RCB learned the curves of the TJB sound and have been bringing that border-town fun to stages around the Northwest since 2009.
Sensuous harmonies from two trumpets intertwine with a bawdy trombone. Syncopated rhythms from the drums and percussion beckon feet to the dance floor. The bass and guitar bump and grind, vying for your hips’ attention. A tipsy marimba bubbles its way into the mix and yes, this is shaping up to be quite an evening, isn’t it?
The eight members of Rat City Brass found this sound so intoxicating they tried it out on other mid-century pop, adding their own special Tijuana spice to classics by Mancini, The Beatles and even Dean Martin.
Crowds from Portland to the San Juan Islands have danced and drunk deep from the exotic cocktail of Rat City Brass. They have fun. Come out and have a good time with them.
