The Lucas Paul Band band started at Goodnite Gracie in Ann Arbor in early 2006 where Lucas had a weekly solo acoustic show on Friday night. Soon Lucas met Dan Eichinger and Jacob Chmara of the popular southeastern Michigan group Smokestack, and they were offered a weekly Thursday pop/rock cover show at Melange, a bistro lounge in the heart of Ann Arbor on Main Street that lasted 2 ½ years. The very well-known young talents Bobby Streng (Saxomble, Liquid Street) and Pete Birchler (Funkillennium) were brought on board shortly after, and Matt Henninger (Ella Riot, Funktelligence) replaced Jacob Chmara on bass, and Mark Damian (Laith Al Saadi Trio) has since taken over the drum chair. Since November of 2006, the Lucas Paul Band has played over 80 shows per year and recently released the album Hello Again, which was written by Lucas Paul, produced by Pete Birchler and mastered by Glenn Brown.
Influences include The Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder, Muse, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, and Neil Young.
